ON NAKED SELFIES AND THE LOT

SENSITIVE TOPIC but here goes my two cents.
I happen to think women getting naked shouldn't be applauded, they don't empower but in actual fact, they reduce women as a sexual object. I wouldn't justify other people name calling a woman getting naked either, but I think we're raising a generation thinking the more they bare their skin, the more attention they get, which is *let's face it* true. We are raising women to strive for more attention, the wrong kind of attention.
SIDE NOTE: I'm not talking about artistic naked shoots. You KNOW what kind of getting-naked I'm talking about.
X-Celebrity takes a naked selfie and it's suddenly so empowering? No, seriously, enlighten me how that would empower my three year old daughter who will eventually become a teenager.
Because what a woman taking naked selfies and being praised for being empowering tells me that this is telling young women that THIS is the way to behave. THIS is applauded. This is GOALS, man.
You know what empowers young women? Female entrepreneurs starting from scratch and becoming successful. Women with drive, motivation and passion. Women who are struggling and overcoming their struggles and rising above and beyond.
So do you seriously want to be remembered as the girl getting naked on Instagram? Do you want people to remember you for your bloody butt?
Get some real life goals and do something inspiring, uplifting and truly empowering with your life.
Get naked and take your selfie if that's what you want to do. It's not my intention to act like I have a right to tell girls and grown women what NOT to do, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend that it's empowering or let girls get brainwashed over this nuisance and ridiculousness especially when I'm raising a young lady myself.
There's nothing empowering about a naked selfie. Everyone has a naked body and everyone has a bloody phone these days. Anyone can do it, boo.
So get out there and find your passion, share it with the world and dream bloody big. You can do it. ðŸ’ª
